for week eight, a quick painting of Mt. Ranier at sunrise is overlaid with a print from a moon-phase lino block that I carved (and later this week, I'll show you the shirt I'm making with that lino block).
Yes! I bought a 5X8" lino block, carved it (so this postcard only shows you a part of the full block), and used a brayer to apply Speedball's oil-based block printing ink for fabric and printed the pieces. It took a couple of hours, and I had to let the fabric cure for a week. Some people said online that they had trouble with the ink fading/washing out when they washed fabric, but I'm not sure if they waited a full week before washing. I haven't washed my pieces; I won't wash them until it's all sewn, so that the edges don't get ragged. But I promise to post pictures and report on it all as soon as it's done!
